MERGE 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
MERGE turns five with 14 hours of techno and a lineup built for the long haul. Chicago-born Juana opens with deep, darker shades of techno and house. Lady Starlight follows with an hour of live hardware before MARRØN makes his MERGE debut, folding African and Surinamese rhythmic traditions into his rolling techno. DJ Nobu then goes back to back with Kangding Ray, pairing Nobu’s psychedelic depth with Ray’s intricate, experimental sound design, before residents Auspex and Ne/Re/A close on deep hypnosis and hard, energetic groove.

In BASEMENT, Mama Snake stretches euphoric trance synths across razor-sharp digital techno. FOLD resident Anabel Arroyo makes her debut with lean, groove-driven techno, while BOUND founder Katie Rex pushes hardgroove through goth and industrial roots. In Studio, Gabrielle Kwarteng digs into ’90s house, loose grooves and disco, while Earth Dog co-founder Jek keeps it sleek, psychedelic and slightly unruly. Fafi Abdel Nour can no longer make it due to visa delays.

Nitefreak presents HiNDE
HiNDE started in Bulawayo in 2021 when Nitefreak created the platform Zimbabwe’s Afro House scene wasn’t getting. He brings it to Brooklyn with an extended set pairing African drums and grooves with the melodic architecture of EDM. Tomer connects New York’s Roxy era to contemporary Afro House, while Samantha Michelle blends Afro and tribal house with melodic techno, indie dance and Middle Eastern flourishes.

Teksupport closes its Sunset Park Rooftop season with Âme Live b2b Trikk, bringing Frank Wiedemann’s deep, emotionally charged live electronics into Trikk’s long, tension-building arcs. German-Nigerian JAMIIE follows with dark, hypnotic AfroTech that can turn warm and uplifting, while duo Clüb de Combat pull acid, disco and ’90s industrial house into the same orbit.

Refuge Friday: Chris Liebing, Akua, Black Asteroid and Henry Chow
Refuge continues its first-anniversary season by putting four generations of techno through its four towering speaker stacks. Chris Liebing brings the dark, propulsive European techno he’s spent three decades refining, while Akua channels Detroit, Chicago and New York into raw machine funk. Black Asteroid brings elegant, brutal industrial techno with a mechanical edge. Brooklyn’s Henry Chow brings stripped-back techno built around tension and groove.

BASEMENT’s second DAY+NIGHT takeover runs from afternoon through sunrise. In the Ruins, D.Dan brings slippery psychedelia, Mos timeless, evocative techno and Elle Dee propulsive percussion. Inside, resident Freddy K brings his 360° vinyl approach alongside Ron Like Hell’s psychedelic left turns and cotton’s trippy, rolling rhythms. Studio softens the edges with Massimiliano Pagliara’s tender disco, Heidi Lawden’s wonky house and Kim Anh’s sensual classic house.

Sonic Ceremony: Echonomist, OVEOUS, Chaske + YONIT
House of Yes turns Sonic Ceremony into something between a party and a performance, with phones off the floor and surprises kept under wraps. Thessaloniki’s Echonomist brings deep, melodic techno with a cinematic pull, while OVEOUS folds Afro rhythms, soulful house and spoken word into the night. Chaske b2b YONIT round things out with funky, hypnotic indie dance built for a looser, stranger groove.

Mister Sunday: Sedef Adasï Takeover
Sedef Adasï takes the Nowadays yard for the full six hours, turning Mister Sunday into a long-form showcase of her adventurous club instincts. House, acid and electro all make their way into the mix, but the appeal is how naturally she connects them. Mister Sunday adds the usual good habits: phones away on the floor and good food in the yard.
