Human Safari

Human Safari

Human Safari is Wayne Mizzi, a Maltese producer who grew up surrounded by the sea, and that openness carries into everything he makes. For all its forward motion, his techno keeps a jazz-schooled warmth, music that, in his own words, has to suit a beautiful sunset.

This is his live debut at Stone Techno, recorded inside Essen's Zollverein coal mine, a UNESCO World Heritage site whose towering industrial scale the music rises to meet. An hour of hardware-driven, hypnotic techno, raw and physical, on one of Germany's most striking festival stages.

Victor (DE)

Victor (DE)

Victor grew up inside music, raised among mountains of records long before he ever stepped behind the decks. The Berlin DJ and Magic Power founder plays with rare fluency across tempo and era, folding Chicago house, techno's classics and newer hardcore into one continuous conversation.

This one belongs to the golden hour. Recorded for hereandthere, Victor closes an open-air gathering as the sun goes down, building patiently through house cuts beneath a pink sky, the kind of hour that only comes together when the light, the day, and the crowd align.

Lars Huismann

Lars Huismann

A drummer since eleven, Lars Huismann moved through jazz, fusion and progressive metal before he found techno in 2011, and that percussive schooling never left him. His is a rhythm-led sound, swift and tribal, drawn from the raw energy of early-2000s techno and rebuilt in his own hands rather than simply revived.

This is his hour as the 194th guest of KHIDI's podcast, the long-running series from the Tbilisi club built under a bridge, and few platforms suit him better: deep, driving, and made for the dark.

Sept

Sept

Sept is pure techno, distant from trends and rooted in depth. Warsaw-raised and now based in Berlin, he has grown into one of the defining figures of the Polish scene, a DJ whose sets play like long journeys, drawing darkness and light through one another without ever loosening their underground hold. That same sensibility carries into OPUS, the label and event series where he threads club music into visual art.

This is his set for UNFOLD, the signature party at FOLD in east London, a room as devoted to art as to the floor. Across two hours the music gathers and deepens, raw and unrelenting, met by a crowd that came for the deep end rather than the easy one.

JKS

JKS

For JKS, techno's physicality is the whole point, built on insistent, hypnotic grooves that turn fierce one moment and seductive the next. Born Valentin De Sieter and raised in the Paris scene, now based in Berlin, he plays with a drummer's instinct for rhythm, drawing the syncopations of UK bass and broken techno into a single percussive current.

Here he rings in the new year at essaim, giving himself four unhurried hours to let the set find its shape. It has the ease of a homecoming, DJ and floor settling into one long groove as the small hours arrive.

Drumming kept as a mid-paragraph grace note (NOT the opener) to avoid twinning Lars Huismann's "a drummer since eleven" p1 in the same carousel. - essaim = a new ~400-cap Paris club (10th arr., opened Oct 2024). Set = ~4 hours (Shiwei-provided; slide says "a four-hour set"). - Kicker blanked (standing rule); would have been Acid Techno ("acid" is the most-repeated sourced descriptor; matches DB acid+hard). - NOT claimed: the exact essaim NYE set page (per DB/user, not independently fetched); Dax J/Regal/etc. as "supporters" (they're his stated influences).
