Meda-Ava makes techno that moves in the dark. The Lithuanian-born DJ learned the music in Dublin, on a diet of 90s techno, and now works out of Amsterdam, where her sets have acquired a patient, hypnotic composure. She lets a groove settle into the shadows and coaxes the intensity upward, suspending a room until it forgets it is waiting.
That instinct has already carried her a long way, from New York and Dublin to Berlin and Amsterdam, and onto lineups beside MARRØN and Ben Sims. Where others reach for volume, she reaches for restraint, and the result is deep, dark and unmistakably her own.
